Caddo River Art Guild was formed as a nonprofit in 2006 and serves Clark County artists and lovers of art. The first Round About Artist Studio Tour in 2007 was a success and continues to attract visitors from all over each year.
In addition to the yearly studio tour, the guild has a variety of art workshops each year, plein air painting events, and guild member exhibits. Members range from the casual art admirer to the professional artist, and include public school art teachers and professors of art in higher education. Membership is open to anyone who wishes to join, only $15 per year.
The guild's monthly meetings are on the third Thursday (some exceptions) of each month at 6:30 in the Arkadelphia Arts Center, 625 Main Street, Arkadelphia. Programs focus on one of the many aspects of the art world. Some past programs include color mixing, how to market your art, Baskets in America, graphic art, cake decorating, printmaking, framing, and floral design.
Art Day has become a popular opportunity for guild members to work on their projects in the company of others. Every 2nd and 4th Thursday members bring their work to the Arkadelphia Arts Center from 9 a.m. until whenever, to paint, stitch, glue, etc., and enjoy encouragement and suggestions from each other. Come join us!
